Lead Bridge Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
Jorgensen is currently seeking a full‑time Skilled Highway Maintenance Technician to join the Traveling Bridge Crew.
The crew is based primarily in Northern Virginia but may also be located in Nashville, TN.
The technician will perform advanced maintenance operations, including multi‑level bridge repair, concrete repair and finger joint maintenance, while complying with all federal, state, local regulations and company policies.
Travel Requirements
75% of the time will involve overnight travel.
The first six months are scheduled in Alexandria, VA and Nashville, TN, with the possibility of additional assignments outside those locations.
Required Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction industry
Minimum 1 year of related experience in bridge/structure construction, concrete form/placement, and repair work
Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
Preferred Experience
Ability to work with computer and smartphone applications
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
Clean Driving Record Is Essential
Must pass a criminal background check.
CDL Class A license is a plus.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Background checks (criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) must meet company standards
Strong organizational and presentation skills
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Ability to perform simple arithmetic functions
Proper safety equipment usage required for each job
Adaptability to the latest technology
Proficiency with smartphones and applications
Capacity to adjust to changing work schedules and multitask
Ability to work safely under various environmental and weather conditions
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Schedule
Full‑time with some night and weekend work as needed.
Must work during snow and ice events and will be placed on an on‑call schedule.
