Senior Manager of SEC Reporting

The Senior Manager of SEC Reporting is responsible for leading all aspects of external financial reporting and ensuring compliance with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This role plays a critical part in preparing accurate, timely filings while supporting the company’s complex operations, including manufacturing, global supply chain, and regulatory-driven revenue streams in the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead preparation and review of SEC filings, including: Form 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K. Earnings releases and investor presentations.

Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and SEC disclosure requirements

Maintain and enhance disclosure controls and procedures

Research and interpret complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP

Draft technical accounting memos related to: Revenue recognition (e.g., capital equipment + service contracts), Lease accounting, Inventory + manufacturing cost structures, and Business combinations and impairments.

Partner with external auditors on accounting positions

FP&A (forecasting and variance analysis)

Legal and compliance (regulatory disclosures, risk factors)

Investor Relations (earnings messaging)

Operations (manufacturing, supply chain impacts)

Interface with internal audit on SOX controls

Drive automation and efficiency in reporting processes (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools)

Lead XBRL tagging and financial reporting systems enhancements

Manage and mentor a team of accountants/analysts

Oversee reporting calendar and ensure deadlines are consistently met

Support M&A integration and reporting requirements as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)

8–12+ years of experience in accounting/reporting

Public accounting background (Big 4 preferred)

Experience in a publicly traded manufacturing or medical device company

Deep knowledge of SEC reporting and SOX compliance

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, especially in:

Inventory and cost accounting

Revenue recognition (ASC 606)

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (Workiva)

Compensation: $150,000-175,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
