Technology Services Account Manager
Location: Gastonia, NC (Onsite)
Compensation: $55k - $65k base + commission

A growing Managed Services Provider is seeking a Technology Services Account Manager to drive revenue growth across an existing client base while actively developing new business within the local market.

This role is a blend of account management and outside sales, with a strong emphasis on business development. While you will inherit a small book of accounts, this position requires someone who is comfortable prospecting, handling rejection, and building new relationships in the small to mid-sized business space.

This is an onsite role based in the Gastonia/Charlotte market. Candidates must already be local and connected within the area.

What You’ll Be Doing

Manage and grow a portfolio of existing Managed IT clients

Own the full client relationship, including service reviews, satisfaction, and expansion opportunities

Conduct regular client check-ins and lead Quarterly Business Reviews

Build and maintain 3-year technology roadmaps and budgets for clients

Identify and drive opportunities such as hardware refreshes, network upgrades, cloud migrations, and telephony solutions

Generate and present quotes for renewals, projects, and upgrades

Actively prospect and develop new business within the local SMB market

Build relationships with small to mid-sized businesses across the Gastonia/Charlotte area

Handle cold outreach, networking, and in-person meetings to generate new opportunities

Maintain a consistent pipeline through disciplined sales activity

Partner with internal engineering and sales teams to deliver solutions

Ensure timely renewal of licenses, warranties, and support agreements

Proactively address end-of-life equipment and system upgrades

75% outside sales and business development

25% account management and client retention

What They’re Looking For

2–3+ years of experience in B2B outside sales, account management, or a client-facing sales role

Must have true outside sales experience

Must have experience selling into businesses, not consumers

Proven ability to prospect, handle rejection, and build pipeline from scratch

Experience selling into small to mid-sized businesses (SMB) required

Background in MSP, IT services, or technology solutions is preferred, but not required

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and opportunities

Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable working independently

Working knowledge of IT environments is helpful

Hardware, networking, Office 365, LAN/WAN concepts

Compensation:
$65,000 per year
