Our Client is Hiring: : Technology Services Account Manager (Onsite | Gastonia, NC)
Compensation: base + commission
A growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) is looking for a Technology Services Account Manager to drive revenue growth across an existing client base while building new business throughout the Gastonia/Charlotte SMB market.
This is a true outside sales + account management role. You’ll inherit a small book of business, but success here is driven by prospecting, networking, and consistently building pipeline. We’re looking for someone already local to the area with strong market familiarity and connections.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing Managed IT clients
- Own client relationships: service reviews, satisfaction, and expansion opportunities
- Conduct regular client check-ins and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Build 3-year technology roadmaps and budgets for clients
- Identify and drive opportunities (hardware refresh, network upgrades, cloud migrations, telephony, etc.)
- Generate and present quotes for renewals, projects, and upgrades
- Actively prospect and develop new business in the local SMB market
- Conduct cold outreach, networking, and in-person meetings to generate opportunities
- Maintain a consistent pipeline through disciplined sales activity
- Partner with internal engineering and sales teams to deliver solutions
- Ensure timely renewal of licenses, warranties, and support agreements
- Proactively address end-of-life equipment and modernization needs
Role breakdown
- 75% outside sales & business development
- 25% account management & client retention
What we’re looking for
- 2–3+ years in B2B outside sales, account management, or client-facing sales
- True outside sales experience required (not inside sales)
- Experience selling into businesses (not consumers)
- Proven ability to prospect, handle rejection, and build pipeline from scratch
- Experience selling into SMB required
- MSP/IT services/technology sales experience preferred (not required)
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organization skills
- Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable working independently
- Working knowledge of IT concepts is helpful (hardware, networking, O365, LAN/WAN)
Location: Onsite in Gastonia, NC (serving the Gastonia/Charlotte market)
