Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for front-end recruitment and talent sourcing to support PAL’s hiring needs for program and infrastructure roles across after-school, summer, and program-based positions. The role focuses on building candidate pipelines, sourcing qualified applicants, and conducting initial screenings and interviews to ensure a strong pool of candidates for hiring managers. The Recruiter takes a data‑informed, strategic approach to sourcing, using recruitment metrics and hiring trends to prioritize outreach efforts and strengthen candidate pipelines. The Recruiter also represents PAL in the community by attending hiring events and developing relationships with community‑based organizations, workforce development agencies, and government partners to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
Pay & Commitment
$68,000-$75,000 a year
35 hours a week, Monday‑Friday
This position follows a hybrid schedule of three days remote and two days in office. On‑site presence will be required during hiring events.
Key Responsibilities
Source and identify qualified candidates using job boards, referrals, community outreach, and events.
Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings/interviews.
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job specifications, team structure, and skill needs.
Support hiring managers with tools and training to ensure a legal and equitable process.
Ensure interviews are scheduled and executed efficiently by tracking progress and following up with hiring managers and candidates as needed.
Track and analyze recruitment activity (applicant flow, source effectiveness, event outcomes) to inform sourcing efforts.
Support the development and execution of targeted, data‑informed recruitment strategies based on hiring needs and trends to meet ongoing and seasonal hiring needs.
Attend job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach events to promote opportunities at PAL.
Develop, maintain, and regularly update a contact list of community‑based organizations, workforce development agencies, and government partners.
Foster and maintain relationships with external partners to support continuous candidate referrals and pipeline development.
Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation in the ATS.
Generate and submit regular reports to the HR Manager on recruitment activity, trends, and outcomes.
Support onboarding coordination by ensuring candidates progress through pre‑employment steps.
Assist with high‑volume seasonal recruitment efforts, particularly for summer programming.
Promote PAL’s reputation and attractiveness as an employer.
Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in recruiting or talent sourcing, preferably in a high‑volume or nonprofit environment.
Experience with community‑based recruitment, job fairs, or workforce partnerships is strongly preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
Strong ability to source and engage candidates across multiple channels.
Experience working with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
