This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63-year-old Program with a long-standing history of Mission Success and of a strong partnership with our Navy Customer! Are you an enthusiastic individual with a strong planning background that can thrive in an exciting fast‑paced dynamic environment?
Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Cape Canaveral, FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full‑time.
Please note we will not provide relocation services for this position.
What Does This Role Look Like?
The new
Project Engineer
will support the FBM LE2 Program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).
Key Activities
In this dynamic role you will:
Support the Mk7 program an IPT lead for EGSE.
Work with partnering organizations (SEIT, Supply Chain, Test, Quality, Safety, Shipping/Receiving etc.) to ensure all processes are appropriately followed and implemented to ensure smooth product flow throughout the lifecycle.
Effectively manage project performance (Schedule, Cost and Technical).
Identify risks and opportunities to the program Risk & Opportunity Control Board and implement approved mitigation plans.
Coordinate with the program manager and the Product Team to balance resource requirements through IPT management.
To Be Effective In This Role
You will need:
Experience leading projects, teams, and/or development efforts.
Experience as a CAM.
+5 years of professional experience for this role.
You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills
Project management certification or equivalent.
Baseline control experience and Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
Support equipment, missile, or production operations experience.
Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
Experience as an IPT Lead.
Agile methodology experience.
Experience with Jira or other issue tracking tools.
Possess strong communication, social, and problem resolution skills.
Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
