Seasonal Park Services Team Member – Morning Crew
A clean, safe, and welcoming environment is essential to every guest’s experience at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. By ensuring the Zoo is ready for each day, this team plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional guest experience from the moment gates open. This effort includes supporting other Zoo departments, from Animal Teams to our Food and Retail partners with waste management and project support.
Our Park Services team is at the heart of this experience: working both behind the scenes and in public spaces to ensure the Zoo remains a place where visitors, staff, and animals can thrive.

Position Overview
We are seeking Part-Time Park Services Team Members to support our Morning Crew operations. This team works primarily in early morning hours before the Zoo opens to the public, focusing on waste management, grounds cleanliness, and event or operational setup needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cleaning and groundskeeping duties in behind-the-scenes and public areas, including:
Trash, recycling, and waste collection and proper disposal
Parking lot, perimeter, and service area cleaning
Sweeping, litter removal and general grounds upkeep
Support Zoo-wide waste management efforts, including:
Proper sorting and disposal of materials to support Zero Waste goals
Handling animal‑related waste and other specialized disposal streams
Assist with operational and event‑related setup tasks, including but not limited to:
Table and tent setup
Leaf blowing, pressure washing and other special projects
General facility and grounds preparation
Fulfill supply and inventory requests by transporting materials across Zoo departments
Safely operate and care for equipment such as carts, blowers, sprayers, and other tools
Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, storage areas and service zones
Follow all safety and security policies of The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Work collaboratively with team members and leadership to complete daily priorities
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
18 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license required; must be insurable to operate Zoo vehicles (if applicable)
Ability to work early morning shifts (6am‑7am) (including weekends and holidays)
Ability to lift/move/carry up to 50 lbs without assistance
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Candidates with prior experience in janitorial services, groundskeeping, environmental services, or similar fields are encouraged to apply
Must be able to complete the requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Employment is contingent on passing a post‑offer, pre‑employment Drug Screening & Background Check
Availability
This is a part‑time, non‑benefitted position with variable hours (up to 35 hours per week, not to exceed 1500 annual hours)
Early morning availability required; shifts begin before Zoo opening between 6am and 7am.
Must be available at least 3 days per week, including 1 weekend day. Applicants with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability will be given priority.
