Job Overview
We are seeking a
Physical Security System Credential Specialist
to join our
Security and Electronic Systems (SES)
business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities
In this role you will be working as part of a team to monitor, manage, and maintain credentials (access badges) for a global enterprise within the Physical Access Control system.
Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements.
Triage customer support calls, providing Tier 1 help‑desk support and Tier 2 escalation.
Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and technical specialists.
Train system users and other system support personnel.
Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes.
Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions.
Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back‑ups, error log reviews, database size, and integrity checks.
Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis.
Plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle, focusing on deployments and enhancements to the badging/credentials system infrastructure and services.
Provide assistance to end users in accessing and using client Physical Security systems (CCURE, Lenel, Genetec, etc.).
Verify identification and authorization in compliance with security protocols.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of access control activities.
Collaborate with security and facilities teams to resolve access issues promptly.
Work and collaborate with help‑desk and badge office teams.
Utilize technology‑based problem‑tracking system to document help‑desk phone calls, document troubleshooting steps prior to completing tickets or escalating to the next level of support.
Support daily operations, including monitoring and reviewing system logs.
Perform root‑cause analysis on significant issues at the appropriate level of support.
Apply knowledge of System Programming Standards (Naming Convention, Configurations, Credential Formats, etc.) as required by the project.
Troubleshoot and audit physical security systems as it relates to access and user credentials.
Host kick‑off meetings with stakeholders, gather/scope project requirements, and report project status on a regular basis.
Be responsible for problem‑solving, anticipating issues and risks, identifying communication gaps, and managing escalations.
Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
BS degree and 2+ years of progressive experience, or HS Diploma/Equivalent and 8+ years of progressive experience.
Some system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and extending systems.
Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.
1+ year of troubleshooting physical security systems in an enterprise environment (Access Control, Key Box Management, Video surveillance).
1+ year experience working on IT related systems such as servers, workstations, and network switches.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and/or Identity Management Systems.
