Controller Opportunity
St Simons By-the-Sea is a 101-bed behavioral health hospital specializing in psychiatric care and addiction treatment for adults and adolescents. You’ll partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll, and EDP functions, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting, driving efficiency, maintaining compliance with accounting policies, and supporting informed decision‑making across the organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Prepare and review adjusting journal entries as part of the monthly close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Oversee and validate team adjustments, maintaining consistency with corporate finance procedures.
Maintain organized general ledger and cash account reconciliations, including depository, disbursement, and payroll accounts.
Analyze financial and statistical data to support leadership in evaluating performance and improving departmental efficiency.
Partner with Department Directors and the CFO to explain budget variances and provide actionable insights.
Support the annual budget process through analysis, schedule preparation, and data entry.

Requirements
Four‑year degree in Accounting or related field required.
Three years’ experience in the field of Accounting required.
Direct experience in healthcare or a hospital organization preferred.
Three years’ supervisory experience required.
