
Staff Accountant
CXC, Detroit, MI, United States
The candidate must be based in Michigan, as occasional travel to Detroit, MI is required.
Own the monthly company financial statements as the Staff Accountant. Get ready to reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, income statement accounts and multiple bank accounts. You’ll also responsible for monthly preparation of recurring journal entries and monthly revenue and expense accruals.
Responsibilities
Assist with month end and year end duties including but limited to fixed asset and capital expenditure entries, all prepared and accrual entries, bank statement reconciliation,
all general ledger account reconciliations, and weekly external payroll entries and audits
Assist with weekly revenue and invoice audits
Assist with monthly financial revenue and expense analytics in preparation of monthly Executive reporting package
Assist Tax Accountant with preparation of local tax returns
Assist AR Associate with daily tasks such as the application of invoices to customer payments, reapps, write-offs, and credit memos
Manage funding reporting with lender and ensure compliance with covenants
Perform various ad-hoc analysis and special projects
Skills & Qualifications

4 year degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred
Minimum 3 years accounting experience and ideally 5-7 years of practice experience
Strong understanding of accrual based accounting preferred
Very high proficiency in Excel
Ideal candidate will have prior usage of AI tools and solutions for accounting practices
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Certinia accounting system a plus
Experience with ADP or other external payroll system a plus
