Job Overview
The CONTROLS TECHNICIAN Specialist leads and oversees activities in the OneSubsea controls department.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair leaks, pressure issues and component failures.

Review routings and communicate changes to engineering and project coordination.

Diagnose electrical faults related to the subsea environment.

Communicate with shop manager and coordinate work accordingly.

Train and guide employees.

Lead meetings such as safety and facility training.

Track hour performance versus standard hours in the routings; report major overruns to manager.

Close out work orders, ensuring all paperwork is completed, signed, and final operation confirmation is completed in the system.

Review and support updates of HARCS; execute pocket HARCs as needed with controls team and others.

Answer questions about ongoing work in meetings and report progress to manager.

Assume responsibility for all work under your leadership.

Support work area with limited supervision.

Maintain a professional working relationship with fellow employees and customer representatives.

Troubleshoot with engineering guidance to solve major issues during testing.

Execute SCM planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) on controls equipment such as CDU, EDU, CIMV, EFL, STFL, etc.

Support and execute FIT on controls systems.

Execute SCM site received testing (SRT) on controls equipment such as CDU, EDU, CIMV, EFL, STFL, etc.

Provide technical support for tree SRT, extended factory acceptance testing (EFAT) and deck pre‑deployment testing (PDT) as needed.

Provide technical support for miscellaneous manifold OneSubsea controls integration and EFAT testing as needed.

Mentor and train electronic technicians.

Maintain controls test equipment and controls testing facility.

Work with customer property inventory planners to ensure proper storage of controls equipment.

Provide cost estimating for all controls‑related scopes.

Work in accordance with the work schedule set by supervisor, including weekends and holidays as required.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore oil and gas or subsea operations, preferably in controls work.

Experience with pressure testing, function testing, and fluid cleanliness activities.

Current or previous certification to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, overhead cranes.

Familiarity with high‑pressure/high‑voltage environments.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Understanding of hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, and actuators.

Experience with subsea control pods, subsea distribution equipment, umbilicals, and hydraulic power units (HPUs) preferred.
