
Production Planner - Cromwell, CT

Job Overview
Hubbell's Cromwell, CT location is looking for a Production Planner to join their growing operation! The Production Planner is responsible for the timely planning in support of the master production schedule, optimizing inventory in assigned areas, and expediting deliveries, clarifying specifications, and scheduling to meet customer requirements. This individual will work closely with manufacturing to establish production planning and procurement schedules.
A Day In The Life
Follow up on back orders of manufactured and procured materials, expedite delivery of orders, make special arrangements for delivery as needed, and communicate expected delivery dates and potential shortages to the respective departments.
Plan the manufacture of all products through the production facility in accordance with assembly procedures and standard times. Release production orders in the required time frame.
Ensure planning documents are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Update SAP data as needed and work with vendor and/or accounting to reconcile PO discrepancies.
Have knowledge of inventory procedures in establishing and maintaining reorder points, reorder quantities and lead‑times.
Recommend procedures to improve quality and reduce costs, stay informed of new developments in related commodities, share updates with the Materials department, and support plant‑wide Safety initiatives.

Knowledge of a variety of commodities would be a plus
Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency
SAP or similar ERP system experience
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good time management and multi‑tasking skills
