Summary
A Massage Therapy Instructor or Faculty member cultivates the school’s mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance, and review in order to ensure the successful academic program and personal development of each student.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program/Course
Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within the specified program.
Provide active input in course development (e.g., course descriptions, syllabus creation, textbook material, equipment review) to the Program Director/Director of Education.
Create and revise daily lesson plans.
Maintain accurate record‑keeping of student attendance and academics.
Student Development
Create a classroom environment that fosters students’ academic growth and guides professional development.
Report student progress (academic, attendance) to the DOE, including performance trends that may hinder educational foundations and provide early advisement forms.
Offer additional help to students struggling with course mastery.
Advise students with minor issues that may impede their education and refer students with major problems to the Program Director/Director of Education.
Correct and return quizzes, tests and lab assignments within 48 hours, using instructional and audiovisual aids and all available resources.
Demonstrate utilization of community resources by arranging guest speakers, field trips, and community service events.
Report damaged, broken or malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Program Director/Director of Education.
Turn in grades within 48 hours of the end of term.
Perform other duties as required by the Program Director/Director of Education.
Enhance curriculum as needed, devising assignments, worksheets, notes, tests, answer keys, and activities when required.
Compliance
Demonstrate knowledge of, and adhere to all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations (U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies).
Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff and promptly elevate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Required Skills / Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum three years of experience in the field of massage therapy.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) certification required.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
This is an on‑campus position with occasional remote work.
Home office setup required; quiet workspace; may need to support a high‑speed internet connection.
Computer equipment setup may be required; accommodations available upon request.
