American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at a Level 2 trauma facility near Springfield, IL, with open heart and CRRT experience highly preferred.
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in an acute care hospital setting near Springfield, IL
Level 2 trauma facility
Patient population includes post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF patients
RN required to titrate drips
RN required to interpret cardiac monitor strips; Dräger telemetry monitors used; telemetry monitor techs also present on the unit
Respiratory therapy assigned to the ICU/PCU 24/7 with access to all respiratory equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
24/7 in-house intensivist and hospitalist coverage (MD and NP)
Charting via Allscripts EMR
12-hour day shifts
13-week contract
Requirements
Active Illinois (IL) RN license required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Level 2 trauma experience or higher required
Experience with sheath pulls preferred
CRRT experience highly preferred
Open heart experience preferred
Additional Information
Responsibilities include managing post-cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology patients, titrating vasoactive and other critical care drips, and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips
BSN is not required for this position
