Job Title: Nurse Clinical/UKHC / UKHC / 7P / TRAUMA 7100 ICU
Location: Lexington, KY (Tower 100 ICU, Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Service Center, UK Chandler Hospital)
Grade Level: 10 | Salary Range: $28.00-39.10/hour | Type of Position: Full-time Staff Position | Shift: 3×12‑hour shifts (7p‑7:30am), 36 hrs/week, weekends/holidays.
Job Summary
Registered Nurses in Tower 100 ICU of the Trauma Acute Care Surgical Service Center at UK Chandler Hospital provide care primarily for adult patients with trauma or acute care surgical conditions, including injuries from blunt and penetrating trauma and vascular surgeries.
Responsibilities
Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient‑centered care—including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, teaching, development, and evaluation of a comprehensive nursing plan of care.
Deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties for nursing care technicians; adhere to university policies, procedures, and regulations.
Support collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
Utilize the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient‑centered plan of care.
Qualifications
Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license accompanied by a Temporary Work Permit (TWP), a provisional license, or an active compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification valid at least six months after employment.
No prior experience required.
Preferred: BSN and at least one year of RN experience.
Strong direct patient care and critical‑thinking skills, basic computer navigation skills, effective communication, professionalism, and organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
Highly motivated, proactive, and confident advocate for patients and families; capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Physical capability to lift 50‑100 pounds on a daily basis and to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods; familiarity with exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury risks.
Ability to work three 12‑hour shifts (7p‑7:30am), 36 hrs per week, including weekend and holiday shifts.
