
Medical Assistant

Primary Responsibilities
Bring patients back to exam rooms and triage patients
Locate any necessary imaging, test results or reports for upcoming appointments
Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc.
Prepare for clinic by printing out patient information as requested by physician
Assist other team members as needed
Assist with phone messages
MRI/CT scheduling/precerting
Prepare for clinics by printing out progress notes and test results
Obtain physician signature on miscellaneous forms
Travel locally to satellite offices as schedule requires
Assist with in-office procedures
Provide coverage for other clinical teams as needed
Friendly and professional patient communication when answering and returning patient phone calls, providing various forms of patient education and handouts, escorting patients to and from exam rooms, appointment/surgery reminder calls, responding to and chart patient messages and communicating test results to patients with direction from physician
Qualifications
Clinical experience in healthcare or orthopedics is a plus
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
Independent, self-starting and highly motivated
Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
Proven positive "teamwork" attitude and work history
Physical Demands
Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
Frequent moving, pushing, pulling of heavy patients and/or equipment
Constant standing and walking for long periods of timeMust be agile and able to work efficiently in space-limited areas
Consistently work at a productive pace
Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
