Our client, a well-established and highly respected law firm in the Pittsburgh area, is seeking a
Trusts & Estates Attorney
to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to build a strong foundation in estate planning and administration while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
Support attorneys in advising clients on trust, estate, and gift planning strategies
Conduct research and assist with planning related to Medicaid eligibility and long-term care considerations
Help develop and implement tax reduction strategies for individuals and families
Assist with asset protection planning, including trust structuring and wealth preservation techniques
Participate in charitable giving strategies, including donor‑advised funds, charitable trusts, and foundations
Support the administration of estates and trusts, including probate filings, asset inventory, and beneficiary distributions
Communicate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals to ensure smooth execution of estate plans
Stay current on relevant state and federal laws impacting trusts and estates
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain admission promptly)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in estate planning or tax law preferred
Strong interest in trusts and estates law
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset
Preferred Qualifications
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (a plus, not required)
Exposure to probate and estate administration processes
Familiarity with estate planning software or document drafting tools
