We are a
legal staffing and recruiting firm
partnering with a law firm to identify an experienced
Litigation Attorney
for its foreclosure and real estate defense practice. This opportunity is best suited for a senior‑level attorney who can manage contested matters independently and bring immediate value to a high‑volume litigation environment.
The role may be structured as either a
Supervising Attorney
(preferred if qualified) or a
Senior Attorney
individual contributor position. The firm does not use the title “Managing Attorney.”
There is a
strong preference for Oregon‑based candidates
due to court‑appearance needs and jurisdiction‑specific considerations.
Responsibilities
Independently manage contested litigation matters related to
foreclosure, mortgage servicing, residential real estate, and title disputes
Lead cases through all phases, including pre‑litigation analysis, pleadings, motion practice, discovery, hearings, and resolution
Draft and argue motions and court filings; assess legal risk and develop strategy aligned with client objectives
Drive discovery efforts, including depositions, written discovery, and evidence preparation; demonstrate proficiency with rules of evidence
Appear at hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences, including
in‑person appearances in Oregon when required
Identify opportunities for early, cost‑effective resolution while confidently litigating complex or high‑risk matters
Collaborate with attorneys across related practice areas (foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims) and work efficiently within case‑management systems
Provide timely, practical client updates and maintain accurate timekeeping
For candidates hired in a supervisory capacity:
Supervise and mentor
1–3 attorneys , offering guidance, light review, and litigation support
Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active Oregon bar membership
strongly preferred
Approximately
8–15 years of relevant civil litigation experience
Substantial experience in foreclosure litigation, mortgage servicing, creditors’ rights, real estate, or similar litigation practices
Ability to handle matters independently with minimal onboarding or oversight
Strong written and oral advocacy, strategic thinking, and motion practice skills
Highly organized, with the ability to manage a demanding and fast‑paced docket
Proficient with modern case‑management platforms and Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel to Oregon as needed for court appearances
