Hours
6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Mon‑Fri)
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Compensation
Estimated hourly base pay: $27.25 per hour.
Position also eligible for S&C's annual short‑term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Job Description
As a CNC Machinist you will set up and operate a variety of CNC turning, vertical and horizontal machining centers. You will work in a production environment with measured standard production rates and will be responsible for the quality of your work.
Key Responsibilities
Handling of part pieces ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 25 lbs.
Deburring and cleaning parts using hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press.
Inspection of parts visually and using measurement tools such as height gauges, micrometers and calipers.
Enrollment and successful completion of courses offered through S&C Continuous Improvement Institute.
Requirements
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self‑directed, changing environment.
Knowledge of shop mathematics.
Proficient use of measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers and calipers.
Understanding of metal‑cutting applications and machine practices.
Preferred
Previous experience with set‑up and operation of numerically controlled machines.
Major Physical Demands
Standing most tasks performed in a standing position.
Lifting frequent items ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Walking occasional short distances (less than one‑eighth mile).
Carrying frequent items ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 50 lbs.
Pushing occasional part containers with a manual hand truck.
Pulling occasional part containers with a manual hand truck.
Bending and crouching occasionally required.
Reaching frequent to move parts from machine to tubs.
Handling continuous piece parts ranging in size from 1 lb. to 25 lbs. with various hand tools.
