Job Summary
The Parish Office Assistant responsibilities are to assist the Parish Administrative Assistant with their daily task. The position reports to the Pastor and operates under the supervision of the Parish Administrative Assistant, with latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative. This is a full-time position working 32 - 40 hours a week.
Ministerial Character
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish, which the Bishop has entrusted top him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfil his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious or lay people. He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions utilized by Holy Trinity Catholic Church help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Essential Job Duties
As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Corn Hill in both your professional and personal life.
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
Data Entry:
Input weekly parishioner donations
Set-up new parishioners in the Data System
Record Parish Capital Campaign Donations and send out reminders as needed
Input new data into the cemetery computer program
Other Tasks:
Fold and insert bulletins as needed
Assist with Mass intention scheduling
Assist with the weekly bulletin
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Data Entry & Other Tasks:
Ability to use basic computer skills
Ability to use normal office equipment, e.g. phones, copier, desk equipment
Ability to work in a noisy and fast paced environment
Ability to coordinate various programs and multi task in an effective manner
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Graduate with computer training
Experience:
No experience required. Will be trained on the job.
Licenses / Certificates:
Valid Texas driver’s license.
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
Catholic Requirement:
Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
Working Conditions
Working in an at-will status
Working in a smoke/tobacco free environment
Working in a fast paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly
Some weekend and holiday work may be required
Will be exposed to religious ceremonies
May be required to attend and participate in Catholic liturgical services
Must adhere to established dress codes and code of conduct
May be required to use personal vehicle to drive on parish-related or diocesan business
