Job Summary
The Front Desk Clerk serves as the first point of contact for customers at Los Angeles Air Force Base Family Readiness Center, representing the organization with professionalism and efficiency. This role supports Family Readiness and Transition Assistance programs by providing customer service, administrative support, and data management in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Intake: Greet and assist customers in a professional, courteous manner
Assist customers with completing the Family Readiness Sign-in Sheet
Support registration for classes, workshops, and events
Input customer data into AFFIRST and the DoD TAP website (dodtap.mil)
Referrals: Refer customers to the appropriate Family Readiness Representative after intake
Maintain service quality standards with no more than one validated customer complaint per quarter
Internet Café Management: Oversee Internet Café access and usage
Issue temporary usernames and passwords to customers
Ensure a positive user experience and compliance with policies
Communication: Respond to all emails and missed phone calls within 30 minutes of receipt
Maintain clear, professional communication with customers and staff
Monthly Reporting & Metrics: Retrieve and submit monthly metrics from AFFIRST within five (5) business days
Report includes: Number of customers served; Number of incoming and outgoing calls
Submit supplemental metrics: Trends analysis; Loan locker inventory and usage; Office supply inventory
Data Management: Collect and input data for the Transition Assistance Program per DoDI 1332.35
Ensure data is entered within two (2) working days of collection
Records Management: Maintain records in compliance with DAFI36-3009 and AFI 33-105
Ensure accuracy, organization, and proper documentation handling
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree preferred)
1–3 years of administrative or customer service experience preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AFFIRST or similar data systems
Familiarity with military programs, Family Readiness, or DoD environments
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Work Environment
Office setting located on LA AFB
Frequent interaction with military members, families, and staff
Requires professionalism, responsiveness, and reliability
Additional Requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain base access clearance
Must meet all contract performance standards
