Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities
Work under the guidance of Waltonen Chief Engineer
Develop designs for subsystems, components, and mounting provisions for various devices
Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle requirements
Perform analysis of design and be able to apply engineering judgment in material selection, welding, and fabrication for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisions
Create drawing mark‑ups, conduct tolerance stack analysis, and generate source data for engineering changes
Provide technical support during prototype and production vehicle builds
Work closely with Waltonen’s Design & Engineering teams to create impactful solutions for military vehicles
Leverage expertise to enhance vehicle performance, durability, and safety in defense applications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, and shock isolation
Experience with design, integration, and analysis of mechanical components and mechanisms
Understanding of the mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structures
Solid understanding of CAD software
Only United States Citizens can be considered
Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance
Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in vehicle components and/or systems engineering
Familiarity with NX or Creo 3D CAD Software
Knowledge of Teamcenter
Proficiency with VisMockup
Experience with defense/military vehicles (highly preferred)
