About the Role
Performs necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Ensure efficient and effective utilization of equipment and tools to minimize waste, downtime and unit cost.
Problem solves issues concerning equipment operation and manufacturing processes related to maximizing output.
Actively participates as a resource to other team members within the Maintenance Team.
Functions as part of the technical resources for the on-site staff.
Using maintenance software, accurately create, track, and close all work orders, parts orders, and inventory control.
Provide coverage for plant operations during all production periods, sharing regular and weekend overtime as well as coverage during vacations and absences.
Comply with 5S and World Class Manufacturing initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
Follow all Company policies and procedures related to safety.
Support ISO 9001-2000 standards and Quality Objectives.
Comply with attendance requirements and other Company policies and procedures.
Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing, and speaking.
Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate product and equipment safely.
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Experience & Education Requirements
5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in high quality carton packaging such as tobacco, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics.
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in a gravure printing facility is highly desirable.
Broad knowledge of cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, and gears.
Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment, including repairs and replacement of gauges, valves, and related equipment.
Knowledge of PLCs, motor control circuits, and troubleshooting DC and AC circuits (24 VDC to 480 V AC).
Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables where standardization is limited.
Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in writing, oral, schematic, or schedule form.
Proficient in operating automated equipment.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to rotate shifts as required and work weekends.
Available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively and professionally in a team environment.
Knowledgeable and able to understand and use a computer and programs.
