Responsibilities
As an IT Audit Intern, you will receive on‑the‑job training and assist the IT Audit team in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of our IT controls, processes, and systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in IT auditing within the dynamic environment of the petroleum industry.
Assistance in the planning and execution of IT audits, including conducting risk assessments and evaluating control effectiveness; documentation and analysis of IT processes; identification of improvement areas and potential risks; support of development and implementation of audit programs and procedures; collaboration with IT and business teams to gather information and validate audit findings; preparation of clear audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations; participation in follow‑up activities to ensure implementation of audit recommendations; staying up‑to‑date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to IT auditing.
Internship Dates
August 17 – December 4.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and security principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
Strong academic performance.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full‑time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Positions are available during spring, summer, and fall semesters.
Concurrent enrollment in a degree‑seeking program for the duration of the experience.
Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
Military experience a plus.
Availability to work 40 hours per week.
Minimum $23.65 per hour; maximum $29.57 per hour.
