Maintenance Specialist (Open) - JR2026-00025276
The Department of Administrative Services State Building Division is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to work at the Craft State Office Building in North Platte, NE. This semi‑skilled maintenance position involves repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance work, as well as contributing to groundskeeping during the summer.
Key Responsibilities
Complete repairs and preventive maintenance across building systems.
Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and groundskeeping tasks.
Schedule and conduct specialized preventive maintenance and repairs for equipment, systems, and machinery.
Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
Perform duties independently or under minimal supervision.
Complete additional tasks as assigned within the scope of the classification.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or another building trade. Experience in building maintenance, mechanical trade, or safety inspections, investigations, or training may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyman or apprentice level trade experience.
Work Shift
Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, with occasional on‑call responsibilities.
Additional Requirements
Must pass a State Patrol background check. Requires a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
