Civil Engineer
Jobot, Amarillo, TX, United States
On‑Site Engineering (Gas & Nuclear Power Plant Construction)
Exceptional benefits and growth opportunity on a flagship project for an emerging company.
We are developing the world’s largest next‑generation private power grid to support the future of artificial intelligence. A hyperscale AI demand is rapidly outpacing legacy grid capabilities, and we are pioneering a behind‑the‑meter HyperGrid™ that delivers highly redundant, utility‑scale power at unprecedented speed and scale. Our development near Amarillo, Texas will exceed 12 GW of generation capacity, including 6 GW of natural gas and 6 GW of nuclear, supporting more than 15 million square feet of high‑density data center infrastructure. This is not incremental infrastructure; it is sovereign‑scale power development.
Key Responsibilities
Review electrical designs and installation plans for constructability and field execution readiness.
Identify opportunities for improvement in layout, routing, access, sequencing, and maintainability.
Call out inconsistencies or “paper designs” that will not work in the field.
Oversee and support execution of MV/HV systems, transformers, switchgear, and MCCs.
Oversee and support execution of cable tray/conduit installations, grounding, lighting, and auxiliary power.
Coordinate with EPC and subcontractors on RFIs, field changes, punch lists, and issue resolution.
Participate in walkdowns, inspections, energization readiness reviews, and turnover planning.
Track progress and ensure construction activities support the commissioning sequence and schedule.
Support verification of testing documentation, including as‑built readiness, electrical test plans, and QC records.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or power construction environments.
Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and field execution workflows.
Demonstrated ability to drive technical clarity with contractors and multiple stakeholders.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Gas plant electrical scope experience (including grid/substation interfaces).
Preferred:
Familiarity with commissioning and energization readiness.
Preferred:
Nuclear experience, especially disciplined design review and QA standards.
Benefits
Incredible benefits package and strong bonus potential.
Work on a nationally significant, multi‑gigawatt power and infrastructure program.
Speed and precision culture with a focus on technical rigor, decisiveness, and execution velocity over bureaucracy.
