Position Overview
GLP Attorneys is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our team in the Spokane office. This is a full‑time, in‑office position with the potential of offering a hybrid schedule post‑training. The regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support throughout the litigation process, including managing client communication, drafting legal documents, and supporting cases for and during trial. This role plays an important part in keeping cases organized, on track, and moving forward through the litigation process. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high‑volume caseload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. The Litigation Paralegal supports multiple legal teams by assisting with complex litigated personal injury cases that are being prepared for trial and provides support to the trial team when or if the cases go to trial. This position requires the ability to work proactively, anticipate case needs, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Work closely with attorneys and legal teams to support a litigation caseload.
Manage client communication and maintain relationships with clients, healthcare providers, and other involved parties.
Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and responses to discovery for attorney review.
Draft motions, responses, and replies, and assist with legal research and memoranda.
Maintain and organize case files, including pleadings and discovery.
Retain and coordinate with expert witnesses.
Review and evaluate medical records.
Prepare ER 904 and other trial documents.
Assist in trial preparation and provide support during trial.
Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy in a high‑volume environment.
Exercise independent judgment to identify issues, recommend next steps, and support case strategy.
Qualifications
A minimum of two years of litigation experience.
Experience in plaintiffs’ personal injury law.
Litigation and trial experience.
A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
Proven ability to manage a high‑volume workload and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, healthcare providers, and staff.
Strong customer service skills and a positive, solution‑oriented approach.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Proficiency in drafting and proofreading legal documents.
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently, identify and resolve problems, and effectively prioritize competing responsibilities.
Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records and working with expert witnesses.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly base pay range for this position is US $30.00 to $45.00 per hour. Compensation is determined using local, national, and industry-specific data and is based on location. It will be adjusted based on experience, education, and skills of the selected candidate.
