
Deputy Court Administrator - Criminal & Juvenile (Montgomery County)

The Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County is seeking a Deputy Court Administrator to oversee and manage the daily operations of the criminal and juvenile divisions. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing case flow, overseeing information technology and human resources. The Deputy also schedules criminal, juvenile delinquency and dependency matters. The position requires independent judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
Job Duties
Manages the daily activities of the criminal division, including case flow management, the scheduling of arraignment, pre-trial hearings and arguments, settlement conferences and trials. Directs and oversees entry of dispositions.
Oversees the training, supervision and discipline of court personnel in the criminal division.
Collaborates with the District Court Administrator to develop goals, standards and policies for court operations in the criminal division.
Works with the District Court Administrator in the recruitment and hiring of court personnel in the criminal division operations.
Supervises the compilation and preparation of statistical reports and the maintenance and retention of court records for the criminal division.
Oversees the use of current court information technologies and plans for future upgrades.
Investigates complaints about criminal court operations, determines facts and implements solutions.
Manages the daily activities of the juvenile division, particularly case flow management and scheduling of delinquency and dependency matters.
Maintains regular communication with criminal and juvenile court personnel and responds to public inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Judicial, Business, or Public Administration, or a closely related field; PLUS
Three years of experience in court management OR four years of varied office management work, including professional-level experience in human resource management.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
Satisfactory criminal background check required.
Juris Doctor degree preferred

Starting Salary Range: $64,750 - $88,490
Current Maximum Salary: $135,969
