Fleet & Asset Administrator
who is highly skilled in Samsara and understands how fleet data, compliance, and asset visibility directly impact field performance.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked hands‑on in Samsara (or a similar telematics platform) and knows how to turn alerts, reports, and dashboards into real operational action. You’ll own the day‑to‑day administration of Samsara while serving as the operational backbone for fleet and asset tracking across DCOMM’s broadband and fiber construction operations.
What You’ll Do
Samsara Platform Ownership (Primary Focus)
Serve as the primary administrator for Samsara fleet management and implement a telematics strategy across the company
Monitor vehicle activity, GPS tracking, idle time, harsh events, and driver behavior
Manage alerts, rules, dashboards, and reporting within Samsara
Pull and analyze fleet data to support Operations, Safety, and Leadership
Support incident reviews using dashcam footage and telematics data
Ensure accurate driver, vehicle, and asset assignments within the system
Fleet & Asset Management
Maintain accurate records of all vehicles, trailers, and field equipment
Track asset assignments, transfers, recoveries, and offboarding
Ensure all fleet and asset data aligns between Samsara and internal systems
Familiar with industry field equipment, their usage, and appearance
Compliance & Safety Support
Support DOT and fleet compliance tracking using Samsara tools
Assist with HOS monitoring, inspections, and audit preparation
Partner with Safety and HR on coaching, corrective actions, and documentation
Track registrations, inspections, insurance, and compliance renewals
Maintenance & Downtime Reduction
Use Samsara data to track preventative maintenance schedules
Coordinate vehicle service, repairs, and vendor communication
Monitor downtime and help minimize operational disruptions
Good basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, maintenance schedules, replacement parts, etc.
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
Act as a go-to resource for field leaders and drivers on Samsara usage
Support onboarding and training related to Samsara, dashcams, and telematics
Collaborate with Dispatch, Construction, Safety, HR, and Leadership teams
Serve as the administrator for asset related RAMP transactions across the company
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare recurring fleet, safety, and utilization reports
Identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities using fleet data
Recommend improvements to fleet policies, workflows, and system usage
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
Hands‑on experience using Samsara in a fleet, safety, dispatch, or operations role
Strong understanding of GPS tracking, telematics, alerts, and reporting
Ability to develop/create a telematics presence – strong understanding of the capabilities and technology
Experience supporting field-based or construction environments
Preferred Background
Telecommunications, broadband, fiber, utilities, or construction industry experience
Familiarity with DOT, HOS, and fleet compliance standards
Experience working directly with drivers and field leadership
Skills & Attributes
Highly detail-oriented and system-driven
Comfortable analyzing data and creating actionable insights
Strong communication and follow-through
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
