Measurement Technician

Position Summary
The Measurement Technician is responsible for measurement programs to ensure the integrity and accuracy of oil measurement and that the frequency, sampling methodology, reporting and documentation are performed in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

Job Functions and Key Responsibilities

Install maintain and calibrate turbine, Coriolis, ultrasonic, and orifice meters

Install, maintain and calibration of pressure, temperature and other transmitters

Install, maintain radio and cell communications

Make orifice plate changes to accommodate customer flow rates

Resolve measurement issues, including accounting for unaccounted for product

Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment components and perform maintenance as necessary

Ability to monitor and analyze measurement data and the ability to react to this data

Interface with gas control and plant operations

Installation, and maintenance of various flow computers

Interpersonal skills required to interface with customers and all other crafts

Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and associated software

Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize work based on business needs

Maintain clean and safe working environment

Make any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe

Maintain accurate records shutdown and safety checks

Maintain all required documentation for process safety management

Operate a company vehicle

Maintain the company vehicle at all times to ensure safety and equipment that he will operate

Maintain tools and equipment issued

Work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Essential Qualifications

Valid driver's license

High school diploma or equivalent

Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team

Must become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.

Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives

Regular and reliable attendance is required

Preferred Qualifications

Two year associates degree in instrumentation or equivalent on the job training

Two years’ experience in petrochemical industry

Experience working in a team environment, self-starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative efforts

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work well with peers and other crafts

Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Strong organizational skills

Physical Demands

Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.

Ability to work in changing climate conditions.

Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
