Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

The Manufacturing Technician supports production by assisting machine operators, handling raw materials, and performing mixing, blending, and compounding activities in a flavor and fragrance manufacturing environment. This role requires consistent heavy lifting, adherence to safety and quality standards, and flexibility to help in various areas of the facility as needed.
Responsibilities

Assist machine operators with off-loading materials and general production support.
Manually move buckets and vats of flavor materials throughout the facility.
Assist with mixing, blending, and compounding products according to documented procedures and work orders.
Follow all safety regulations, rules, and good manufacturing practices at all times.
Work in an environment with a variety of strong flavors and fragrances, such as vanilla, garlic, and fish oil.
Perform various duties around the facility to provide coverage when team members are out.
Clean production areas, including general facility cleaning tasks.
Clean bowls and equipment after food production to maintain sanitation standards.
Handle materials and products in compliance with GMP and FDA requirements.
Use a tablet to read and follow documentation, recipes, and work orders.
Serve as a production helper and support multiple areas of the operation as needed.
Lift and move items weighing 50+ pounds on a consistent basis.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including beard masks when applicable.
Essential Skills

Experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, or similar process-driven manufacturing environment.
Background in mixing, blending, compounding, or following recipes in a production setting.
Ability to read and follow documentation, recipes, and work orders accurately.
Comfort working in a flavor and fragrance environment with strong and varied smells.
Capability to lift 50+ pounds on a consistent basis.
Familiarity with production, manufacturing, and material handling processes.
Ability to use a tablet or similar device to access production information.
Willingness to follow and uphold GMP and FDA-related guidelines and safety standards.
Flexibility to assist in various areas of production as a general production helper.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing is highly preferred.
Experience with blending, compounding, and production mixing processes.
Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and FDA-regulated environments.
Comfort with repetitive tasks and standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a beard mask or maintaining no facial hair where needed for safety and hygiene.
Strong attention to detail when following recipes and production instructions.

Work Environment

This role is based in a flavor and fragrance manufacturing facility where a wide range of strong smells, such as vanilla, garlic, and fish oil, are present at all times. The position is on 2nd shift and requires the ability to work weekends and extended 12-hour days when production volumes are high. The environment follows GMP and FDA standards and provides all necessary personal protective equipment, including beard masks when required. Work is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting of 50+ pounds, standing, and moving throughout the production floor. A tablet is used regularly to access and follow work orders and documentation, and attire must comply with safety and hygiene requirements appropriate for a food-related production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CERRITOS, CA.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
