Warehouse Distribution Specialist

Essential Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
Receiving supplies and picking orders using manual processes to fill supply orders.
Packing, preparing supply products for shipment, and verifying, inspecting, receiving, and storing products.
Accurately picking and counting inventory to fill store requisitions and orders and maintaining inventory records using company computer systems and spreadsheets.
Sorting, organizing, and storing supplies/products in designated locations to maintain inventory accuracy and accessibility.
Inspecting inbound and outbound products to ensure quality and accuracy.
Performing inventory cycle counts of supplies as required and assisting with basic discrepancy resolution.
Operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) and other tools required for production and packaging after completing required training and certification.
Providing day-to-day work directions and support to distribution staff as assigned, including assisting with training and answering questions on procedures and priorities.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment and following all safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
The job responsibilities include:
Receive supplies and pick orders using manual processes to fill supply orders.
Pack, prepare supply products for shipment, verify and inspect contents, receive, and put away or store products.
Accurately and efficiently pick inventory to fill store requisitions and orders in accordance with established standards.
Ensure accuracy and count of products selected and promptly report any discrepancies.
Accurately perform procedures using company computer systems and related technology.
Use and update Excel spreadsheets and/or other tools to track and maintain supply inventory quantities, as assigned.
Sort, organize, and store supplies/products in designated locations to support efficient inventory management.
Inspect and ensure quality control on inbound and outbound products; record and promptly report any damaged products/merchandise or inventory discrepancies to the designated supervisor.
Perform inventory cycle counts of supplies as required and assist in reconciling variances.
Assist in loading and unloading products using a forklift and/or pallet jack, after completing required training and certification.
Provide immediate feedback to management regarding discrepancies, potential process issues, or safety concerns.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Meet established production standards, including productivity, quality, and accuracy metrics set by management.
Provide day-to-day work direction and support to distribution staff, including assigning or re-prioritizing tasks as directed by management to meet shift goals.
Assist in training new and existing team members on SOPs, safety practices, quality expectations, and use of equipment and systems.
Contribute to a positive team environment that supports company goals and objectives.
Always promote safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment and report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action.
Help maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment in all assigned areas.
Assist in all other areas of the distribution center as business needs require.
Job Qualifications:
The job qualifications include:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in a production, distribution, or warehouse environment required.
At least one (1) year of processing experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center environment required.
Prior experience providing work direction, acting as a lead, or supporting the coordination of team activities in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
Basic knowledge of computer (PC) skills; experience with Outlook and Excel in particular.
Ability to use or learn warehouse management and inventory systems (e.g., WMS) and other company systems as required.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively to perform job duties safely and accurately, including reading labels, work orders, and safety information.
Good math and counting skills sufficient to verify inventory counts and complete basic calculations required for the role; may be required to complete a job-related assessment of these skills.
Ability to meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
Good attendance and punctuality record; consistently at work and on time.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify and resolve basic discrepancies in counts, labels, or system data, and escalate issues appropriately.
Self-motivated with a willingness to take on new tasks, challenges, and opportunities.
Must maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times with a strong focus on internal customer service and teamwork.
Dependable team player who collaborates effectively with others to meet department goals while following all company policies and safety procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while following established procedures and standards.

Work schedule may vary based on business needs (e.g., increased hours, weekends, holidays, peak volume, and staffing shortages), in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including predictive scheduling requirements where applicable.
This role is performed in a warehouse environment and requires the ability to perform the essential functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical activities routinely include standing, walking, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, climbing ladders, and working overhead.
The role also requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of heavier items with appropriate assistance or equipment.
Ability to use material handling equipment and tools, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, poly strapping tools, ladders (up to 16'), and other equipment or materials necessary to the production and packaging of supplies, after completing required training and certification.
Consistent adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), is required.
