Quality Inspector (1st Shift)

The Quality Inspector (1st Shift) reports to the Factory Quality Supervisor and is a member of the Quality department. This position works within various areas throughout the factory to audit quality standards within in-process production. Periodic product inspection for conformance to drawing specification is also performed. When non conformances are identified, the quality Inspector assists in factory containment efforts. The quality Inspector is expected to regularly use inspection tools, software, and equipment.
On a typical day you will:
Perform process audits within production cells, the warehouse and distribution center to ensure compliance to standard work, safety and quality procedures.
Report identified non conformances in the audit database and communicate all essential information to Quality Engineers for root cause analysis.
Perform part inspection to specified drawings, identifying and communicating any defects or non-conformances.
Perform process and equipment validation such as wire crimp pull testing and torque validation.

What You Will Need to be Successful:
2-4 years Manufacturing experience, using inspection gages devices (Required)
Strong communication (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels of senior management and factory direct labor personnel
Ability to learn technical information quickly and apply to a specific problem.
Autonomy in task management.
Computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Blueprint / drawing interpretation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be Able to lift 35 lbs. If item weighs more than 35 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devices.
Must be able to stand up to 10 hours a day.
Additional movements include walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision), depth perception.
Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, and to cope with stress, and repetitive tasks and be able to self-inspect and take responsibility for quality of own work.
