IT Field Technician

Job Summary:

The technician provides day-to-day technical support to customers for any computer or technology assets including Point of Sale Hardware, software, web applications, and networking equipment. A technician installs, configures, and troubleshoots technology issues and implements an efficient resolution to ensure business operations are not impacted. The technician will be required to work on a rotating on-call nights and weekends schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports and maintains POS system computers (servers, desktops, POS registers, payment systems, laptops and tablets).
Supports and maintains cell phones and smart phones that are assigned to company employees
Supports and maintains all phone systems telephone equipment including handsets, PA system and dial plan.
Supports and maintains all scanning equipment, including handheld scanners and wireless access points.
Supports, trains, sets up, and troubleshoots employees across the company.
Prepares various reports; performs special projects as tasked.
Operates a variety of equipment such as copier, scanner, fax machine, video conferencing, telephone equipment, smartphones, power UPS, computer, etc.
Uses a variety of computer software and work through a ticketing system to manage daily challenges that are submitted by associates and Corporate employees.
Interacts and communicates with various clients and individuals throughout the company.
Prepares documentation of all adds, moves, and changes throughout the network.
Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, entering, and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
Demonstrated knowledge and basic functionality of company network including firewalls, switches and routers.
Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
Orientation and training of new staff.
Ability to communicate effectively with hardware/software service and technical support vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
Facilitation of change management skills.
Highly developed verbal and written communications.
General Company Requirements:

Maintains appropriate behavior consistent with company policies
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
Education and Experience:

A.S.C. in Computer Science or equivalent experiences preferred
MCSE/MCP/A+ Certifications a plus.
The incumbent is required to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in midsize technology environment
