Warehouse Worker / Supply Specialist

The Warehouse Worker / Supply Specialist supports critical clinical operations by performing a wide range of materials management, distribution, and logistics tasks within a medical complex. This role focuses on accurately determining replenishment needs, locating and selecting medical supplies, documenting the receipt and issue of materials, and ensuring timely distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
Determine replenishment requirements for medical supplies based on usage and inventory levels.
Locate, select, and pick medical supplies and materials according to order requirements.
Document the receipt, issue, and distribution of supplies and equipment accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform shipping and receiving activities, including checking deliveries, verifying documentation, and preparing outgoing shipments.
Use RF scanners and scan guns to record materials, track inventory movements, and maintain accurate warehouse records.
Conduct physical inventories and participate in cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Perform quality control checks on supplies and materials to confirm accuracy, condition, and compliance with standards.
Pack, label, and prepare materials for distribution within the hospital and other areas of the medical complex.
Handle materials safely and efficiently, following established logistics and warehouse procedures.
Use computer systems, email, and Microsoft Office applications to complete recordkeeping, documentation, and communication tasks.
Collaborate with team members to support a smooth, efficient, and responsive materials management operation.
Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled to ensure continuous support of clinical operations.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 1 year of related work experience in materials management, warehouse, logistics, or a similar role.
Ability to stand on your feet for the majority of the shift.
Physical ability to pick orders, move and stock shipments, and handle materials safely.
Experience with material handling and logistics activities such as picking, packing, and inventory.
Ability to use a scanner or scan gun to record materials and track inventory.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes and documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, including documentation of receipts, issues, and inventory transactions.
Ability to perform physical inventories and quality control checks.
Computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts, and some holidays as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in logistics, preferably within a healthcare or hospital environment.
Experience using RF scanners and scan guns in a warehouse or inventory setting.
Familiarity with SAP or similar logistics, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
Experience in warehouse inventory management, including order picking and stock rotation.
Comfort using email and basic office software for communication and reporting.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for accurate inventory control.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and support colleagues as needed.

Work Environment
You work in a clean, climate-controlled hospital environment that supports clinical operations and patient care. The atmosphere is team oriented, with a strong focus on cooperation and reliability to keep supplies flowing where they are needed. Typical shift options include Monday through Friday schedules with rotating weekends (every other weekend) and some holidays required, with available shifts such as 3:00 a.m.11:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m.1:30 p.m., and 12:00 p.m.8:30 p.m. The dress code consists of scrubs or office casual attire paired with sneakers, suitable for an active role that involves standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the shift. You will regularly use scanners, RF scan guns, computers, email, and office software in a structured warehouse and hospital setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
