2nd Shift
This 2nd shift role (2:30 p.m.
11:00 p.m.) focuses on the setup and operation of precision cylindrical grinding machines to produce high-quality parts according to customer specifications. You will interpret blueprints and engineering documents, perform precision grinding operations, and verify work using precision measuring instruments to ensure products meet stringent quality and production requirements.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate precision cylindrical grinding machines to produce parts that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Perform precision cylindrical grinding of components, ensuring correct dimensions, finishes, and tolerances.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, technical sheets, engineering specifications, and purchase orders to determine job requirements.
Select and prepare the appropriate materials, parts, tooling, and equipment required for each grinding operation.
Fit and assemble precision parts into the grinding machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure setup.
Use precision measuring and inspection equipment such as micrometers and height gages to verify part dimensions and quality.
Utilize machinists' hand tools to adjust, maintain, and fine-tune setups for optimal performance.
Follow scheduled workflow assignments to meet customer demand and production requirements on time.
Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in the machine shop and follow all safety procedures.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve machining or quality issues as they arise.
Work overtime, including weekends when needed, to support production schedules.
Essential Skills
Proven experience setting up and operating precision cylindrical grinding machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical sheets, sketches, and purchase orders.
Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment such as micrometers and height gages.
Hands-on experience working with grind machines such as Cincinnati centerless grinders and CNC Studer grinders.
Basic math skills to perform measurements and calculations related to machining and inspection.
English reading skills sufficient to understand work instructions, specifications, and safety information.
Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.
11:00 p.m.).
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed to meet production demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a machine shop or machining environment.
General machine operation experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with grinding processes and machine shop practices.
Aerospace industry experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
