Job Description Law & Motions Attorney Law & Motions AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Law & Motions Attorney to join our plaintiff-focused litigation team. The successful candidate will own the development and execution of motion practice for a robust personal injury caseload, drafting and arguing complex motions (including demurrers and summary judgment), conducting in-depth legal research, and shaping motion strategy to advance client interests. This role requires excellent legal drafting, courtroom advocacy, and the ability to manage discovery and coordinate with trial teams to achieve favorable outcomes for plaintiffs.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, file, and advocate for a wide range of pretrial motions, including demurrers, motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, and evidentiary motions.Develop and implement motion strategy tailored to each case to maximize favorable rulings and advance settlement or trial posture.Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well-reasoned memoranda, briefs, and ex parte applications grounded in current statutes, case law, and procedural rules.Prepare and argue motions in court and handle hearings and oral argument before judges and

discovery disputes related to written discovery, depositions, subpoenas, and protective orders; prepare motions to compel and meet-and-confer where necessary.Draft and respond to oppositions and replies, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met and filings are persuasive and technically sound.Collaborate closely with trial counsel and paralegals to integrate motion outcomes into overall case strategy and trial

and analyze opposing parties motions and pleadings to identify weaknesses, procedural defects, or strategic opportunities.Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and coordinate with clients to communicate case developments and recommendations regarding motions and case posture.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals on motion drafting, legal research techniques, and courtroom procedures when applicable. QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in CA3+ years of litigation experience with substantial motion practice on behalf of plaintiffs in personal injury or related civil litigation matters; preference for candidates with 5+ years experience.Proven experience drafting and litigating demurrers and motions for summary judgment, and handling motion strategy throughout the pretrial phase.Strong legal research and writing skills, with a track record of producing persuasive briefs and memoranda.Demonstrated courtroom experience arguing motions and handling hearings.Deep familiarity with discovery procedures and experience resolving discovery disputes, including drafting motions to compel.Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with attention to procedural detail and court rules.Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.High professional and ethical standards, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset.Ability to make court appearances as needed Benefits - Medical, dental, vision - PTO - LTD/STD - Remote - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
