Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO): Secure the Frontlines of National Defense!
Are you a cybersecurity expert driven by the mission to protect our nation's most critical digital assets? The Cybersecurity Operations Branch is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to serve as the ultimate guardian for our vital networks. In this critical role, you will go beyond routine IT support, delivering expert technical analysis and architecting the security posture for systems that power operations across the globe.
Lead Complex Security & Accreditation. As the designated ISSO, you will be the technical authority leading the deep-dive analysis and development of the Risk Management Framework (RMF). You will author and manage the critical Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation required to ensure the integrity, compliance, and operational readiness of NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and specialized stand-alone Platform Information Technology (PIT) systems.
Defend High-Stakes Intelligence Enclaves. You will operate at the highest levels of national security, focusing heavily on RMF requirements for Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) enclaves. Your vigilance and expertise will also be the shield protecting crucial unclassified networks and Collateral SAP support systems from sophisticated, evolving threats.
Drive Cyber Resiliency & Network Defense. Working within the Cybersecurity Operations Branch, you will be a key player in delivering a wide spectrum of strategic cyber services. You will directly contribute to advanced initiatives encompassing cyber technology integration, proactive network defense, comprehensive risk management, and rigorous vulnerability assessments. QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance commensurate with the position sensitivity code and must be able to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Program information and Sensitive Compartmented Information
- Cyberspace qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes cyberspace work as a paramount duty
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- May require work to be performed during hours outside the normal duty schedule
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Cyberspace qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk)
2. Knowledge of Cybersecurity and privacy principles
3. Knowledge of Cyber threats and vulnerabilities
4. Knowledge of Cybersecurity and privacy principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
5. Knowledge of information technology (IT) risk management policies, requirements, and procedures
6. Skill in assessing security controls based on Cybersecurity principles and tenets. (e.g., CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-53, Cybersecurity Framework, etc.)
7. Skill in recognizing vulnerabilities in security systems. (e.g., vulnerability and compliance scanning)
8. Ability to conduct vulnerability scans and recognize vulnerabilities in security systems
