Project Manager - Data Center (Electrical / Low Voltage)

Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a Project Manager to support large-scale data center construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of work performed inside the data center, with a strong focus on electrical and low-voltage scope execution. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of communication between the customer and internal teams, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and execution.
This position requires a strong technical understanding of structured cabling and low-voltage systems, along with proven project management, financial tracking, and scheduling experience in large commercial or data center environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Client Management
+ Serve as the primary liaison between the customer and internal project teams
+ Drive execution of assigned scope of work inside the data center from start to completion
+ Interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications
+ Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery
Technical Oversight
+ Oversee electrical and low-voltage cabling installations within a data center environment
+ Identify and validate proper use of cabling types, including:
+ 18.2, 18.6, and composite cables
+ Plenum vs. non-plenum cable applications
+ Shielded vs. unshielded cabling
+ Ensure work is executed according to design standards, safety requirements, and project specifications
Financial Management
+ Manage project budgets and Cost to Complete (CTC) on a daily and weekly basis
+ Track daily production and ensure output aligns with project plans
+ Maintain internal and external financial and risk logs
+ Support billing activities, including:
+ Change orders
+ RFIs
+ Tracking billed versus billable work
+ Demonstrate understanding of contract types, including:
+ Time & Materials (T&M)
+ Lump Sum scopes
Scheduling & Reporting
+ Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project
+ Understand and manage work that may be out of sequence without being behind schedule
+ Drive schedule commitments for both internal teams and the customer
+ Provide regular updates on schedule, financials, and project risk
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and low-voltage systems
+ Experience supporting data center or large-scale commercial construction projects
+ Proven experience with budgeting, cost control, and scheduling
+ Strong customer-facing communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Required Experience
+ High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
+ Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or project management experience
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications, low-voltage, or related construction/technical fields
+ Experience serving as a customer liaison
+ Must meet company driving requirements
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
