Oncology Field Medical Director, GU- Prostate Cancer (MD)
Responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for prostate cancer across a broad range of medical customer segments and initiatives in the assigned territory (Southern California & Arizona).
Field Medical Core Responsibilities
Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the territory in compliance with Pfizer policies.
Maintain current, in‑depth knowledge of prostate cancer, related disease states, and Pfizer medicines to provide therapeutic area/product information to internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as a conduit for medical information and customer insights, offering requested information to HCPs within Pfizer guidance and conveying customer viewpoints to Pfizer.
Contribute to medical content strategy development and execute aligned field medical tactics in collaboration with other Pfizer colleagues.
Communicate effectively with headquarters medical, medical information, and field medical teams.
Deliver medical content through live and virtual presentations, written materials, and telephone or virtual conversations.
Incorporate patient centricity, health literacy, and cultural awareness into all medical communications and deliverables.
Field Medical Role Responsibilities
Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in prostate cancer.
Identify and pursue medical engagement with priority customer segments.
Respond to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs with truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in compliance with Pfizer guidelines.
Lead advisory boards (BRF, Vendor) under manager oversight.
Respond to inbound queries from HCPs via the triage process.
Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, Oncology R&D, and GPD to identify potential sites for Pfizer‑sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving under‑represented populations.
Provide medical support throughout the investigator‑sponsored research process.
Stay current with congress data and disease state literature.
Support study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation discussions with customers.
Demonstrate strong territory leadership.
Communicate proactively with patient advocacy groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ medical affairs.
Provide insights on local patient organization structures and needs.
Serve on cross‑functional committees as needed.
Represent Pfizer medical leadership with professional associations and societies, upholding medical professionalism.
Mentor new team members and study leads.
Participate in special projects.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Minimum three years of relevant experience.
Recognized subject‑matter expert across internal and external stakeholders.
Broad leadership experience with influence and collaboration skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple stakeholder demands and handle conflict constructively.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a remote environment while prioritizing and exercising sound judgment.
Ability to work within a matrixed, multi‑disciplinary team.
Experience leading change in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary ranges from $230,900.00 to $384,800.00. In addition, the position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of base salary and eligibility for a share‑based long‑term incentive program. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with Pfizer matching and additional retirement contributions, paid vacation and holidays, personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health, dental, and vision coverage.
