Director of Operations – Mandarin Fluency Required
Annie Aesthetic, California, MO, United States
About us
Annie Aesthetic (“Annie”) is a private equity strategy focused on the medical aesthetics industry. Annie is a low-profile platform that is acquiring and operating best-in-class medical aesthetics businesses across the United States. We work alongside each of our clinics, providing financial and operational support to aid in their growth. We take an approach that optimizes for the best long-term outcomes for all parties – owners, employees, clients, and investors alike. We intentionally foster a performance-oriented, dynamic culture that values ownership, pragmatism, humility, and collaboration.
Role Overview
The Director of Operations will play a critical role in driving clinic performance and supporting growth initiatives. Reporting to the COO, the Director will serve as the full owner of one of our portfolio companies in the Los Angeles area — a business generating over $20 million in annual sales across five clinic locations, with plans to continue its rapid growth through de novo openings. This role offers a unique blend of strategic and operational responsibilities, ideal for a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a passion for building teams and growing businesses.
The Director will own portfolio company’s P&L and have all employees reporting up through them, including on-site Clinic Managers. Responsibilities span strategic planning, growth initiatives, operational excellence, talent development, and overall business performance.
The portfolio company is based in Los Angeles, so the candidate must live in the LA area and be able to be on-site three to four days per week. Some additional travel will be required, including team offsites. The majority of employees are most comfortable speaking in Mandarin so fluency is a requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee clinic strategy development and subsequent execution in partnership with the executive team, clinic founder, and on-site Clinic Managers
Coach and train Clinic Managers on optimizing clinic operations and owning the P&L, KPI’s, and adherence to SOPs. Implement requisite meeting structure and ensure proper documentation / tracking is established for remote management.
Support management of the Annie Aesthetic Operations Associate assigned to each clinic. Coach and train junior members of the team on management of clinics and various internal workstreams.
Strategic Planning & Execution
For new acquisitions, lead the post-close integration, including the onboarding of clinic employees and Zenoti (EMR) implementation.
Assist with developing cross-functional project plans, Strategy decks, SOP’s, and checklists for day-to-day operations.
Use strategic frameworks and project management techniques to help guide people through uncertainty; manage multiple and potentially conflicting priorities; identify and manage complex dependencies.
Vendor Management & Compliance
Partner with Clinic Managers and the Zenoti team to troubleshoot issues and optimize our utilization of the software. Stay up-to-date with Zenoti product knowledge and proactively plan future adoption areas to streamline operations and increase revenue.
Interface with the third-party vendors for day-to-day needs of the clinic and ad-hoc items including: pharma / clinical, marketing, IT, maintenance / building management, etc.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements in each clinic related to business licenses and permits and clinical compliance and best practices.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of experience in consulting or operations management, with a focus on multi-site operations or M&A.

Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a focus on results.
Track record of successfully managing multiple work streams and optimizing processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and sensitive items with kindness
