Responsibilities
The Director is accountable for the implementation of the vision, mission and values of Mayo Clinic and nursing services within defined areas of practice. The individual is responsible and accountable for operations, fiscal/financial management, quality, service, environment of care/safety, risk management, and human resource management of a defined area of practice. The Director is responsible for all inpatient and/or outpatient areas at a specific site or for service line across multiple sites (i.e., for all Emergency Departments in a region). The individual is responsible for strategic direction and leadership for clinical nursing activities to ensure the provision of essential quality services to meet the needs of those served within the practice. The individual works collaboratively with the physician chair and administrator of the department practice area. The Director assists in the development and implementation of practice wide policies and procedures, and leading and/or participating in various improvement teams to accomplish objectives at the system and departmental levels. The individual actively participates in appropriate decision making bodies. The Director will maintain a safe and professional environment.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing or a bachelor's degree in nursing with a master's degree in business or a health-related field. Minimum of three years RN experience and a minimum of two years of healthcare leadership experience.

Two or more years of dialysis experience, along with prior direct line supervisory experience, preferred. Knowledge and experience with quality improvement and change management processes preferred.

Internal applicants are required to attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

License and Certification (Must obtain prior to start date)
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date; acceptable certifications include: American Heart Association (AHA)/Heartcode BLS, Military Training Network, Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers).

Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
