Job Overview
We're seeking someone to join our Credits Product Control team as a Product Controller in the FID division within ISG Finance to collaborate with our Trading Desk along with other support areas (Operations, IT, Legal & Credit) to analyze, consult and report on new and existing businesses.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is an Associate level position within the Product Controller Job Family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area, as well as management reporting across business segments or cross functional end‑to‑end product oversight.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments
Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work
Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
Manage the review, reconciliation and analysis of daily P&L (Profit and Loss Reporting)
Manage the month end close reconciliation, reporting and signoff process
Serve as a point of contact for business owners regarding P&L and Balance Sheet analysis and reporting
Prepare daily and monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentaries to explain significant movements and events
Develop efficient controls for new business
Liaise with other areas of Finance to ensure accounting disclosures and standards are applied correctly
Coordinate resolution of issues with other departments, including front office, risk and operations
Respond to ad hoc requests including regulatory, valuation, risk and operations
Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities
Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes
Experience in Excel
Organized professional with people, ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple requirements simultaneously
Logical thought process and the ability to critically assess and evaluate problems
Preferred experience within a financial services organization (Bank or Broker‑Dealer, predominantly) or Commodities organization
At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Compensation
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
