Job Summary
Senior Grant Coordinator supports disaster recovery and other government programs by performing real‑time review and analysis of documentation required by state and federal regulations and program policies. This role evaluates funding requests, analyzes unmet needs, and contributes to comprehensive spending plans aligned to short‑ and long‑term recovery objectives. Responsibilities include improving intake and review workflows, preparing training and technical assistance for funded recipients, and producing real‑time reporting to support transparency and accountability. The position performs day‑to‑day oversight and compliance analysis procedures, supports internal control practices to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, and assists with responses to state and federal monitoring activities.
Job Duties
Reviews and analyzes funding requests and supporting documentation for state and federal grant compliance
Manages intake workflows and tracks request status, deficiencies, and resolution timelines
Develops recommendations that prioritize funding based on unmet needs and program objectives
Assists with drafting comprehensive plans for deploying federal funds across eligible initiatives
Collaborates with team members to recommend approval, denial, or conditional approval decisions
Drafts and maintains program policies, procedures, and guidance documentation
Prepares training materials and delivers training sessions for applicants and funded recipients
Provides technical assistance and communicates eligible and ineligible costs using program rules
Produces real‑time status reports and transparency content for public‑facing reporting tools
Applies internal control concepts to identify compliance risks and control gaps
Supports responses to oversight, monitoring, audits, and records requests from government entities
Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise junior staff
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Public Policy, or Law, required
Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Public Policy, or Law, preferred
Experience:
Three (3) years to five (5) years of experience in a professional office setting, required
Experience in federal grant administration and compliance, preferred
License/Certifications:
Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS), preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP), preferred
Software:
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, required
Experience with SharePoint or similar document management system, preferred
Experience with grant management systems, preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of federal grant compliance concepts, documentation standards, and record retention practices
Ability to interpret written regulations, policies, and procedures and translate requirements into clear guidance
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to independently research federal guidance and apply findings to documented decisions
Ability to identify process bottlenecks and implement measurable workflow improvements
Strong business writing skills for policies, procedures, and public-facing content
Ability to manage multiple priorities with documented tracking and on‑time completion
Ability to communicate professionally with government stakeholders and program participants
