Job Duties
Central State Hospital is seeking a dedicated Chief People Officer that will provide comprehensive human resource development and management leadership to the facility.
Key responsibilities include leadership & supervision providing direct oversight of the Human Resources (HR) and Staff Development departments. Extensive knowledge of recruitment and selection practices, HR compliance, employee relations, classification and compensation, benefit programs as well as knowledge of federal and state employment laws. This position serves on the Executive Leadership Team and will provide critical HR perspective and guidance on business issues.
Please note that this position requires the selected candidate to work on site at the facility.
Minimum Qualifications

A proven track record of hands on experience of critical Human Resources functions to include recruitment & selection, employee relations/EEOC, HR compliance, classification & compensation management, benefit program administration as well as federal and state employment laws.
Strong management and supervision experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience building trusted, and promoting collaboration across the organization to include senior leaders, clinicians, operations, finance and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience resolving sensitive or complex employee relations, workforce and organizational issues requiring discretion, diplomacy and sound judgement.
Demonstrated experience leading HR initiatives that require coordination across multiple departments.
Significant track record in resolving sensitive or complex employee relations cases, workforce and organizational issues requiring discretion, diplomacy and sound judgement.
Ability to interpret HR data and implement data driven solutions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with HRIS systems as well as Microsoft office suite.
Drive and coordinate HR initiatives across multiple departments to achieve deliverables.

Additional Considerations

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health or related field.
PHR/SPHR certification.
Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare environment.
Prior Human Resources experience working for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
