Human Resources Specialist
Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years have expanded throughout the Midwest.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist supports day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, DOT regulations, and company policies. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to support recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, training, and compliance for the company.
Hours and Wage
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Starting wage: $22.00-24.00 per hour, based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with DOT-regulated hiring requirements, including background checks, MVR reviews, drug and alcohol screening, and physicals
Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring completion of all required documentation
Maintain driver qualification files (DQFs) in compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and employment practices
Support performance management processes and employee engagement initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including DOT files and I-9 documentation
Assist with audits, safety reviews, and regulatory inspections
Track licenses, certifications, medical cards, and training renewals
Generate HR reports and metrics as needed
Process personnel changes, promotions, terminations, and status updates in HRIS systems
Coordinate mandatory safety and compliance training
Track completion of required certifications and continuing education
Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to work effectively with field-based and office-based employees
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Time management and multitasking abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education and Experience
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
1+ year of experience in human resources management preferred
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
