About Our Family:
We are a busy, warmhearted family of five, balancing demanding careers and a full household. One parent works outside the home, while the other works from home. Our children, two 14-year-olds and an 11-year-old, each have their own active schedules. While most of their activities fall outside working hours, occasional driving support is part of the role. We also have a small Doodle who is very much part of the family. Despite the constant bustle, we make time to travel together and prioritize quality family time whenever we can.
As an intentional family, we’ve built real systems to streamline the logistics of our lives, from carpools to meals, so that everyone can contribute and stay on the same page. This thoughtful approach has made us realize that we would benefit from someone who can take on more of the mental and day-to-day load, helping us focus on what truly matters: quality time with each other and the various pursuits we’re passionate about, whether that’s school, extracurriculars, health, or our careers.
We’re looking for a house manager who can help us maintain balance—keeping the home organized and running efficiently, while also managing hands-on tasks like laundry, light meal prep, and other daily chores. Our ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into our family dynamic, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Who You Are / What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive individual who enjoys taking ownership of tasks and helping our home run smoothly. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are excited to collaborate on refining and improving the systems we’ve put in place. Whether it’s managing household logistics or staying on top of daily tasks, you take pride in keeping things organized and efficient.
You are an intuitive person who can build rapport with the family while also respecting their space, knowing when to offer help and when to give the family time to focus on their work and personal activities. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, with a growth mindset, and open to taking on more responsibility as the role evolves.
If you are someone who is excited to contribute to an active, family-focused home, where organization and communication are key, we’d love to work with you.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization:
Maintain household organization systems
Perform daily resets, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and tidying up after the kids
Organize and maintain the mudroom drop zone and kid-related spaces
Conduct seasonal clothing swaps that effectively utilize small closets
Assist with packing/unpacking for travel as needed
Coordinate donation drop-offs
Maintain indoor plants
Laundry & Linen Care:
Wash, fold, and organize all family laundry
Manage closet organization and ensure items are put away
Rotate and wash linens on a scheduled basis
Perform light ironing as needed
Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry space
Meal Planning & Prep:
Assist with light meal prep to support simple, healthy family dinners throughout the week — defrosting, chopping, prepping ingredients as directed.
Create and manage collaborative grocery list and schedule orders
Receive, unpack, and organize all grocery deliveries
Follow dietary needs and preferences (tree nut allergy)
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
Vendor & Property Oversight:
Coordinate home maintenance tasks (pool, septic, landscapers, sprinkler systems, etc) and seasonal property care with preferred providers
Schedule and oversee quarterly salt delivery
Water outdoor plants
Inventory & Errands:
Manage shared list of household supplies and maintain inventory via weekly grocery orders and Amazon subscriptions
Handle returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and picking up prescriptions as needed
Family Support & Administrative Assistance:
Assist with pick-ups and drop-offs, on an occasional basis as needed
Maintain and update the family's Skylight calendar — appointments, school events, activities, carpool schedules, and recurring commitments for all family members, flagging conflicts and keeping everything current
Coordinate the carpool calendars for school
Schedule appointments for family members as needed, including medical, dental, and personal care
Monitor and manage the household email account; flag priorities and handle routine communications as directed
Track receipts for on the job expenses
Pet Care:
Ensure all vet and grooming appointments are on the family calendar
Provide basic care as needed — letting the dog out and feeding
Maintain pet supplies
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the mudroom closet
Tidy gym area and wipe down equipment as needed
Tidy basement space as time allows
Manage small organizing projects as requested
How to Apply:
