About the Role
As a Labor & Employment Litigation Associate in our Los Angeles office, you will serve as a key player in a results-driven practice focused on defending employers against sophisticated legal challenges. You will handle a diverse caseload ranging from single-plaintiff disputes to high-stakes wage and hour class actions. This role is designed for an ambitious litigator who excels in a collaborative national firm environment and is eager to contribute to the growth of a top-tier employment practice.
Key Responsibilities
Defense Advocacy:
Manage a comprehensive litigation workload, defending employers in single-plaintiff cases and complex representative actions.
Wage & Hour Mastery:
Lead the defense in wage and hour class actions and representative actions, specifically focusing on the Private Attorney General Act ( PAGA ).
Strategic Research & Writing:
Conduct sophisticated legal research and draft high-stakes briefs, motions, and pleadings with extreme attention to detail.
End-to-End Litigation:
Support all phases of the litigation lifecycle, from initial strategy and discovery through trial and potential appellate efforts.
Client Collaboration:
Partner with a talented team of mentors to solve intricate legal problems for a diverse range of business clients.
Requirements
Experience:
5–7 years of relevant Labor & Employment litigation experience, specifically within the California legal market.
Technical Proficiency:
Extensive experience in defending wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims is highly preferred.
Bar Admission:
Must be an active member in good standing of the California Bar.
Academic Background:
Strong academic credentials and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Skills:
Exceptional written communication skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, national law firm setting.
