Be part of the team behind the scenes that keeps elections secure, accurate, and efficient. Seasonal Election Workers support critical election operations including ballot collection, signature verification, and ballot processing. Seasonal workers assist in the Ballot Processing Center and in the field, handling ballots and election materials with care and precision. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in the operational side of elections.
Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will work as part of a secure two- to three-person team to collect ballots from official drop boxes while strictly documenting the chain of custody using digital tools such as QR codes, forms, and logs. Responsibilities include assisting with signature verification in the statewide voter registration system (VISTA) and supporting overall ballot processing, including sorting, opening, and preparing ballots for tabulation. The ideal candidate must maintain strict adherence to security protocols and confidentiality requirements while accurately completing all necessary logs, reports, and reconciliation documentation. Success in this position requires working collaboratively with team members to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency throughout the election process.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain absolute accuracy while adhering to strict procedures and confidentiality requirements. You should be comfortable utilizing various computers and digital tools and demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, all Ballot Collectors are required to hold a valid Utah Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record to ensure the safe and reliable transport of election materials.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED
Special Qualifications
Registered voter in Cache County
18 years of age
Must be able to pass a background check successfully
