Overview

Grant Payment Specialist in the Grants Office within the Texas Department of Agriculture Financial Services Division. Primary location: Austin, TX. Exempt, Regular employee.
Responsibilities

Review and approve reimbursement requests from grantees for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with grant terms and approved budgets.
Verify supporting documentation to confirm allowability and proper categorization.
Prepare and submit payment recommendations; maintain payment records and supporting documentation in the grant management system.
Monitor expenditures against budgets and performance reports; identify discrepancies and potential compliance concerns.
Communicate with grantees to resolve payment issues, request additional documentation, and address deficiencies.
Respond to inquiries via written, telephone, or in-person communication; provide post-award training and technical assistance on procedures and reporting expectations.
Support grant closeout by reviewing final reimbursement requests and ensuring all financial obligations are met.
Follow all TDA policies and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; one year of related experience can substitute for one year of college.
One year of experience in grant payment processing, financial review, contracts, or related fields.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Government, Finance, or related field.
Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to grants and contract administration; strong budgeting and reporting skills.
Ability to interpret guidelines, evaluate fiscal data, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Telework option: None; on-site required.
Salary: B19, $4,450.00 per month (Pay Basis: Monthly).
